Handy, but confusing

How the heck do you disengage the lock for the saw, knife, etc.? Tried moving the scissors as mentioned, but that doesn't seem to work?

This is too clumsy and hard to use to be of value. I was excited to find it because my tools keep disappearing from my handy kitchen junk drawer. Nobody bothers to take this one. I've tried yo use it a few times. No good.
There's a trick to closing it

The knives and screwdriver lock into position. Took us a bit but figured out if you move the scissors out, it disengages the lock and you can close the knife.

Got a miracle Janet for Xmas, very versatile, love it. When I open all tools all the way out, they cannot close up, is there a trick? I'd it really tight? Feels like I'm gonna slice open my hand.
